After a colossal and mysterious accident a young talented architect comes back to his senses in a very odd world that only resembles the reality. This world is based on the memories of the ones who live in it – people who are currently finding themselves in a deep coma. Human memory is spotty, chaotic and unstable. The same is the COMA – odd collection of memories and recollections – cities, glaciers and rivers can all be found in one room. All the laws of physics can be broken. The architect must find out the exact laws and regulations of COMA as he fights for his life, meets the love of his life and keeps on looking for the exit to the real world which he will have to get acquainted with all over again after the experience of COMA.
Hard to believe this is amateur writer/director Nikita Argunov’s 2nd writing and 1st directing credit! For an international film, its production was top notch with stunning visuals. You can pretty much pause any frame and print off an amazing sci-fi poster. The acting was great, the score very fitting, and the length and pacing just right. It certainly isn’t worth the low rating and the negative reviews comparing it to Inception. Sure, maybe the same concept, but a different story, and that’s not a bad thing. It’s like giving every cop movie after the first one ever made a 1/10 because it’s been done already. Those people are the wannabe critics. Nevertheless, if your a sci-fi fan, this is a great film, and the subtitles aren’t difficult to follow. A well deserved 8/10 from me.
